About the product
What is Tercet Matcha?
Tercet Matcha is premium ceremonial-grade (5A) Japanese-style matcha green tea powder, selected for freshness, taste and consistency, and sold for Nigerian customers. It comes in 100g, 200g and 300g packs.
What makes matcha different from regular green tea?
With green tea bags you steep the leaves and throw them away. Matcha is the whole leaf, stone-ground into powder, so you drink the leaf itself. That means more of the compounds green tea is studied for, mainly EGCG (a catechin) and L-theanine (an amino acid linked to calm focus), plus natural caffeine.
Why is Tercet more expensive than some other matcha?
Ceremonial-grade matcha costs more to grow and process than culinary or blended powders. Many customers tell us they came back to Tercet after trying cheaper options because they preferred the taste and consistency. We compete on quality, not on being the cheapest.
Weight, PCOS and health
Will matcha make me lose weight?
Matcha is not a magic solution, and nothing you drink will cause weight loss on its own. Green tea research suggests a modest effect on metabolism and blood sugar, which can support a routine built on balanced meals, movement and good sleep. In our internal 21-day challenge, many customers reported noticeable changes, but that is customer feedback, not a guarantee. Results vary from person to person.
Is matcha a cure for PCOS?
No. PCOS is a medical condition and needs proper medical care. Matcha can be part of a PCOS-aware routine: EGCG has been studied for its role in insulin sensitivity and inflammation, two things that matter a lot with PCOS. Most of that research is on green tea in general, not matcha specifically. Use it alongside your doctor’s advice, never instead of it.
Can I drink matcha if I have PCOS?
Yes, most women with PCOS can enjoy matcha as part of a balanced routine. If you are on medication or under treatment, check with your doctor first, especially about caffeine.
Can matcha help with energy and focus?
Many people prefer matcha to coffee because the L-theanine in it can smooth out the caffeine, giving calmer, steadier energy with fewer jitters and a softer afternoon crash. Responses vary from person to person.
Who should not drink matcha, or should check with a doctor first?
Matcha contains caffeine and active plant compounds. Please speak to your doctor before using it if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, sensitive to caffeine, have a heart condition, high blood pressure, anaemia or a liver condition, or take blood thinners (such as warfarin), stimulants or other regular medication. Green tea can reduce iron absorption, so drink it between meals rather than with iron-rich food or iron supplements. Tercet is not intended for children.
Can I use matcha on my skin?
Some people use matcha in DIY face masks because of its antioxidant reputation. Treat it as cosmetic support only, not a treatment for acne or any skin condition, and patch-test first.
Using your matcha
How do I prepare it?
Add 1 teaspoon (about 2g) of matcha to a cup, add a little hot water around 70 to 80 degrees C (not boiling, which makes it bitter) and whisk until smooth and frothy. Top up with more water or milk. You can also blend it cold with water, milk or a smoothie, and our recipes have Nigerian-friendly ideas from zobo to coconut rice.
When should I drink it?
Most people drink it in the morning or early afternoon. Because it contains caffeine, avoid it late in the evening if it affects your sleep.
How many cups a day?
One to two servings a day is plenty for most people. More is not better, so keep an eye on your total caffeine intake from all drinks.
How should I store it?
Keep the pack tightly sealed in a cool, dry, dark place, away from heat and humidity. Once opened, use it within a couple of months for the best colour and taste.
